The Wind Phone is located opposite Temuka Cemetery in the Allen Jones Walkway.

What year and month did you place your Wind Phone at this location?

October 2023

Why did you choose this location?

My mum’s plaque is at this cemetery. It’s a nice area in the trees to look across to the cemetery and talk to your loved ones.  

Is your Wind Phone dedicated or in memory of someone special?

Mary Leslie, my mum who died in 2001. Inspired by the reading The Phone Box at the Edge of the World by Laura Imai Messina.

Do you have any advice for someone thinking of creating a Wind Phone?

If you make one, know that it is sacred, and you will feel that through the process.
