It's important to me to shine a light on the story of each beautifully created and placed Wind Phone. Sharing these stories makes a difference because it's in the telling that we connect and heal. To not cloud the Wind Phone creator's message, the format for Featured Phones is to share their answers to the interview questions verbatim.

This week's Featured Phone is located in Alberta, Canada: Julie Gray created this beautiful phone in memory of her son Alec Douglas Forsyth who passed away January 22, 2017. Julie has become a treasured friend I met because of Wind Phones. Thank you, Julie, for sharing the story of your phone with us.

Where is your Wind Phone located?

Alberta, Canada

Just of the West Side of Hwy 28 – almost on the corner of Township Road 572 and Range Road 232. It’s about 5 minutes north of Gibbons, Alberta. https://maps.app.goo.gl/GNWaN2E59Rg2SmYv6?g_st=i

Why did you choose this location?

I chose this location because it is right off the corner of the highway where Alec had his accident. His friends from welding class placed a memorial there that they had welded for him. His friends still go and have a beer with him occasionally.

What year and month did you place your Wind Phone at this location?

I placed it on September 16, 2022.

Is your Wind Phone dedicated or in memory of someone special?

It is dedicated in memory of my son Alec Douglas Forsyth. Alec was the most kind and level-headed young man ever and he was only 17 when he passed. He was a young old soul. Alec would also be overjoyed with this phone.

I can hear him now, "that's fucking cool mom."

Do you have any advice for someone thinking of creating a Wind Phone?

My advice would be "do it". The amount of people that this help is astounding. It brings me more comfort.
