Every Wind Phone holds a story, one that is best told by the person who created or cares for it. No one can share it quite the way they can. For that reason, Featured Wind Phone stories are presented in the creator or steward’s own words, shared just as they were written.
When we share our stories, we create connection, offer comfort, and sometimes inspire someone else to create or visit a Wind Phone of their own.

Our Featured Wind Phone is in Ocala, Florida.
A heartfelt thank you to Lisa Bolton for sharing the story behind her beautiful Wind Phone. Lisa is the founder of The Dandelion Project, a nonprofit that offers grief support and resources for those who are bereaved or living with trauma.
There’s something especially meaningful about the name - dandelions feel so closely connected to the spirit of Wind Phones. As Lisa so beautifully shares, “dandelions are signs of life again, and like the dandelion spreads its seeds, we spread our love from one to another.”
A perfect reflection of how love continues… carried gently on the wind.
Where is your Wind Phone located?
Highland Memorial Park
1515 NE 3rd Street
Ocala, FL 34470
What year and month did you place your Wind Phone at this location?
November 2025
Why did you choose this location?
I have a nonprofit organization called The Dandelion Project and I have partnered with Highland Memorial Park for events, and other various things. While planning our last event, I came across a Wind Phone. After researching all about Wind Phones I went to the committee and asked if they would consider placing a Wind Phone on the grounds. They immediately fell in love with the idea and said yes! The phone is placed in a very serene area containing a pond with a fountain as well as many trees. It is a spectacular view!
Is your Wind Phone dedicated or in memory of someone special?
The Dandelion Project donated the phone in memory of my 3 children: Donald Jerald Fernley, Kerri Elizabeth Fernley, and Quinn Celeste Bolton. While planning to place the phone I lost my father who was my biggest supporter. I am hoping to place another phone at the park in his memory next, but for now this one is also dedicated to his memory (Gerald J. Giuliani Jr.). One of our funeral directors donated the bench in memory of his son Jordan and the facilities manager build the box it is contained in.
Do you have any advice for someone thinking of creating a Wind Phone?
I had such an easy time and experience because I had a location and didn’t need to go far for permissions and such. So, I don’t have any advice this time. I may the next time, because The Dandelion Project is planning on placing a few more phones in Central Florida and NJ where we are originally from.

I'd love to feature your phone! You can find all the information here to submit your Wind Phone.
